This past weekend, I turned another year older (not sure if wiser comes in automatically) and wanted to spend this birthday somewhere special as well as kick of my travel segment of the blog.
I’ve been fortunate enough to do some traveling, but I mainly did it as more of a promise to travel often, especially since I’m a 20-something single girl with no kids, no commitments and no excuses. So, when thinking of where to write my first post about it was a no-brainer to pick Miami, FL. Miami is the perfect place to travel for a weekend getaway.
Don’t get me wrong, I love New York, but Miami will always be a very special city to me. Aside from the beaches, the all-assumed “perfect weather” and “Latin flavor”, it’s also my hometown. I grew up in Dade county, went to school here and still visit my family every chance I get.
I wanted to show these photos – taken one of the two greatest people in my world – my mother, Magaly Ramirez, who is an amazing photographer among other things and has given me permission to showcase some of her work. These are some of my favorite pictures of Miami because they not only capture pictures of the city, they capture the feeling of being a part of and living there.
I always have an amazing time and cannot wait to be back in a few short months. I will probably do another segment and showcase some of my favorite local eateries, places to go (non-South Beach related) and things to do.
Thank you guys for stopping by! Leave a comment or questions, I’d be happy to answer. Oh, and make sure you check the photographer out on Instagram. Until next time, friends!
