Anyone who knows me knows that up until a year ago, I knew nothing of and hardly wore any makeup.
Although I love being fresh-faced and natural, my love of makeup has grown astronomically to the point I don’t have enough storage to store it all. With that, I have found my makeup soulmate, the secret but not-so-secret ColourPop. Known for their amazing lippie stix and matte lipsticks, ColourPop has grown from a small southern California company to a full-on global phenomenon.
There’s so much to love about ColourPop. For starters, nothing is over $10. Colourpop is now doing kits which range between $18-20 collectively, but if you think about it, it pretty much costs the same as if you were to buy each piece separately, so why not buy in bulk? My love for Colourpop started with one Ultra Matte Lipstick: Chi. It’s an ultra matte beige tone from the Karrueche collaboration.
Some other great things to love:
- They’re cruelty-free (yay!)
- and they’re the sister company to Kylie Lip Kits (yes, that Kylie Lip Kit)
- They’re vibrant fun colors and on-trend finishes
- Simply put, they walk the walk, talk the talk and look good doing it
They’re products range from lipsticks, brows, blushes, bronzers, highlights, eyeshadows and contour kits. As a cult follower who has tried and own all of these, I can say without a doubt they’re the big poo. Not to mention, ColourPop is fast, usually arriving at my door within 5 business days. I’ve compiled a list of the products I’ve tried as well as a slideshow of my personal favorites below.
Ultra Matte Lip: Probably my favorite line. I don’t mind the feel of matte lipstick – I forget I have it on. It’s a little strange to get used to, but I highly recommend it, especially if you prime your lips beforehand. I’m all about clean, matte looks. To wear, make sure your lips are dry (very important) and bare (but like I said, I like to use the primer to smooth it out). You can apply the matching lip pencil (highly recommend) and just apply. What I love is how long they last (will be testing this theory out on YouTube Sunday so stay tuned) and how I can eat and drink coffee without having to reapply (you know, life goals).
Ultra Satin Lip: I have 2 Ultra Satin lips and I love them just as much as the matte, however I prefer matte more. Again, I like not feeling as if I have something on my lips, and I can feel these. However, they last just as long and make your lips looks as luscious as ever. Again, prep with the ColourPop lip primer for all-day wear and smoothness.
Colourpop also has the new Metallic collection. Currently I am a proud Zebra owner and am waiting on Salt to come in the mail. I love Love LOVE Zebra, it’s such a great color and so bold for me.
Lippie Stix: The lippie stix are great, I probably own more lippie stix than anything else. They’re smooth to put on, but I do, again, highly recommend the primer before applying. Available in matte, satin and sheer finishes, you can literally find a lippie stix for every occasion and skin tone. I personally like to stick to warmer tones, but occasionally venture out to something wild like Nevermind.

Give. Face. Always.
Highlighter: I used to shy away from highlighters, particularly because I have textured skin and didn’t want anything that would bring attention to it. Now, with the help of Artistry from Amway and Soko Glam’s Korean Beauty Products, my face is clearing up in ways I never thought possible and I can enjoy a good highlighter. My current obsession is Glo Up, also the Karrueche collection. Colourpop also came out with a tie-dye highlighter collection (of course it sold out within 30 seconds, literally) and I cannot wait to get my hands on it.
Blush: Ordered Flush’d from the Karrueche collaboration and I honestly couldn’t be happier. The best suggestion I have is finding a blush that compliments your skin tone as well as your undertones. I have yellow undertones so the peachy coral color of Flush’d works well on my skin for a day look. At night I like to go a little bolder. And to think I hated blush before!
Bronzer: I don’t know how I lived without bronzers. Maybe it was because I am a homegrown Florida native and was naturally tan all year. Even so, I love the warm glows these Colourpop bronzers give off. Some days I honestly do not want to wear blush and will lightly tap this on my cheeks for a natural day look.
Eyeshadows, Brows, Gel Liners and Eye Liners are all a part of the Colourpop family and to no one’s surprise, I have a few of my own that I love.
Eyeshadows: Loving the warmer tones but don’t be afraid to go bold. I just nabbed a tie-dye shadow Mermaid Kiss and I cannot wait to find a YouTube tutorial that will teach me how to use it because Lord knows I won’t know on my own.
Brows: When it comes to brows I realized good products do matter. The bolder the makeup the bolder the brow and I’m glad they have a variety of color options.
Gel Liners: Love. I only do my eyes with gel liners and Colourpop lasts all day, doesn’t smudge and almost always gives me a perfect cat eye. Just took me 12 years to perfect, no big deal.
Eye Liners: Just as great. I have purchased fun eye liner colors because my gel liner is black. It’s great for the bottom liner and again, doesn’t smudge.
I never like to write about products or brands I don’t believe in and I truly believe in this brand. Great product, amazing price point and speedy delivery – literally everything I love when it comes to shopping. Check out their website here and let me know what you guys think: what you love, don’t love, products you’ve tried, I want to know. Until next time!
