Need a last minute outfit to that party you didn't think you were going to?
It’s so difficult spending money on an outfit you only plan on wearing once. However, my thought is, who says you only need to wear your New Years Eve outfit just once? Whether it’s spending time at a family gathering, dancing the night away at the club or great bar with your significant other, a New Years Eve outfit needs to be one that brings you lots of laugh, glamour and luck for the new year. Most importantly, it’s an outfit you can wear more than once.
A New Years Eve Outfit You Can Duplicate.
When it comes to New Years Eve, I’m all about bringing in the New Year in the prettiest dress I can find. True, I’m holding out to the New Year in which I wear an amazing tux, but until I find the right one, this blush satin dress from H&M (similar here) is the perfect dress to ring in 2017.
Maybe it was watching La La Land or the fact that I decided to place myself on a budget this holiday season, but this dress had to be worn. I love the support the top gives and the skirt made me feel as if I was at a 1950s prom. Finding the right size is so important, especially for an outfit you will photograph and be photographed in a lot.
Pick a New Years Eve Outfit You Can Wear More Than Once.
Originally, this had been my Christmas dress, but when purchasing the piece I thought of ways I can wear this once the holiday season is over. Adding a cute jacket and flats or ankle boots, a blouse and your favorite coat brings it into the winter and spring seasons. Blush and satin are everywhere this season and won’t be leaving anytime soon. The good thing about that is you can purchase pieces that can remain staples even after the trends have passed.
My favorite kind of accessories are:
- A nice watch
- An understated bag
- Shoes that can speak for themselves
- You can also add nice bracelets and bangles for a bigger effect
Surprisingly, this dress is not available on the website, but is available at your local H&M store.
The simpler the accessory the better. I love understated jewelry, bags and shoes. The New Year is always a time to turn it up a notch and play up your accessories. This is always the best direction to go in as you want your outfit to be able to turn down after the 1st.
A Look Back At This Year.
2016 has honestly been one of the roughest years of my life. When I think of all my blessings and opportunities I sometimes feel extremely guilty of the fact that I hated this year. Although it has brought many beautiful things it was unnecessarily cruel and brought a lot of personal hardships. I like to think of it as growing pains and a chance to make 2017 the best year it can possibly be.
I hope 2017 brings joy to everyone; whether I know you personally or not, thank you so much for all of your love and support and for believing me enough to read my posts. I want to personally thank my amazing friends, Jurien Huggins, Valerie Martinez, Hortencia Caires, Nicole Cone, Alfonso Francois and anyone else I missed for putting up with me and taking my pictures. I want to thank my work family for being amazing and my actual family for being the wind beneath my wings (cheese ball I know).
Happy New Year, see you all in 2017! Until next time.
