Summer will forever be a season of dresses. As the days grow longer and the sun unbearable, less is always more, and our style game definitely needs to be amped up. Winter is easy with cute layers but summer is all about fun and flirty outfits.
No matter the season, it’s pretty typical for New Yorkers to wear black all year round. Nonetheless, black can still hold incredible personality – one of the ways? Tiered dresses. Fun and flirty, how to style tiered dresses for summer can be easy and comfortable.
How to Style Tiered Dresses for Summer: Simple Does It.
Lately, I’ve been all about monochrome looks – black on black, white on white, red on red, etc. Whenever styling a dress that may be a little bit out there, I always think of everything from my hair to my shoes. My best tip? Keep it simple! Let the dress be the standout piece and everything else is complimentary.
The way I think about a summer outfit:
- If the dress is the standout piece, what kind of shoes will compliment, but not overpower?
- Sunglasses are essential and should look good on your face and a part of your outfit
Espadrilles are the perfect summer shoes! Aside from comfort, espadrilles exemplify summer and a cute strap or tie-up espadrilles as a feminine and fun touch to any outfit.
Lastly, fabric! Fabric choice is key. I love wearing as much cotton and linen as possible for summer. It’s the most breathable fabric and can be easily taken care of. The downside? Both fabrics wrinkle quite a bit, but they are quick fixes.
